Unrelated; I was looking into how to transfer old slides into digital pictures. One way to do it is to basically take a picture of it with a digital camera. It's fast and actually creates pretty good quality digital slides.
Back to the story; So the person I got this digital-picture-taking-of-slides idea from was using a Macro lens. I got back onto my really-wanting-a-lens-for-my-birthday I decided to go look at lenses. While I was there I happened to mention my dad had some old Nikon lenses, and the guy told me that they can work with my DSLR (if they were made after 1950's something). This is something I should have known! but it was an amazing revelation.
Summary; basically I have 9 lenses at my disposal, including 2 macro lenses. I am happy cause I don't have to spend my money on my camera addiction (except to get a new bag to hold all my stuff) and I can start my random picture experiments before my job starts (if I can get a job)
